Each order also shows the time elapsed since the order has been turned in above the order type and server name. The time will be highlighted in different colors as the time increases.

Clicking on the Summary Pane button will open a pane on the right with a list of the total number of items for all the displayed orders.
The number of each item is split into two numbers: the number of the item from Dinein orders and the number of the item from Walkin/Pickup orders. If Total is checked, it will display the sum of those numbers.
To the right of the item name, the order number(s) for orders displayed with the item are shown.
If Hide is checked (near the top right), all items that have not been completed will be hidden.
If Combine is checked, the same items in the summary pane will be grouped together even if they have different modifiers and/or special requests.

Modifiers and Special Requests

Modifiers are always shown in blue while special requests are always shown in red on the kitchen display. They are also indented below the item or modifier that they apply to.
In the example above, ‘no sauce’ is a special request for the ‘Beef Chow Mein’ item and ‘Brown Rice’ is a modifier for the ‘Beef Chow Mein’ item. However, ‘no Egg,no Oil’ are special requests for the ‘Brown Rice’ modifier.

KD Pending Feature

KD Pending is a feature that allows current or pending orders to be shown on the kitchen display; this means that the kitchen display will show the cart of a terminal in real time as items are added and modified. The order number will be an unrealistically high number in a red box.

Enable KD Pending

From the Advanced Back Office, click on System, set KD pending to Yes, then click Save.
To access the advanced back office, go to your Home screen. Click on Tools (enter your passcode if prompted), then click Back Office, and then click Advanced.

Example

The items in the cart have not been entered yet. On the right side, you can see this pending order on the kitchen display displayed in real time. All changes will be reflected on the kitchen display as the cart is updated.
Note the order number and red box around it. After the order is entered, the order number will change into a proper number in a black box.

Using a USB Bump Bar with the KDS

For each order on the kitchen display, there is a slot number under the X.
The slot number corresponds to the number key on the bump bar.
If an order has been completed, pressing this number on the bump bar will hide this order.
The other buttons have the following functions:
Bump will hide the order in slot 1.
Recall will un-hide the last order that was hidden.
Sum will open or close the summary pane.
Up/Down arrows will change the current page from the main page to the history pages.
While the main page shows the orders that have been turned in and are in progress, the history pages show all orders in the system including the completed orders. The arrows are used to move from one history page to another to view past orders.
Page will navigate the user back to the main page.
